Pennsylvania's Cumberland Valley has been a primary East Coast crossroad since pre-colonial times, established by Native Americans and pioneers.  The county seat, Carlisle, is conveniently located at the intersection of U.S. 81 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (U.S. 76) making it an easy day trip from New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia.
